117 migrant workers, 50 child labourers rescued from Bhuvanagiri brick kiln by Telangana CID

Hyderabad: About 167 migrant workers, including 50 children, from Odisha were rescued from the Pochampalli brick kiln at Jagathpally, Yadadri in Bhuvanagiri district.

An SoS was sent from a civil society named Samata to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Telangana state police on the distressed condition of migrant brick kiln labourers at Jagatpalli under the Pochampalli area.

Responding to the message, the Telangana police immediately gave instructions to the Pochampalli SHO Vikram Reddy. A team led by DSP B. Erna with inspectors, SI, and staff visited RRR brick kiln at Jagatpalli of Pochampalli.


“The teams rescued 50 children, 47 women, and 70 workers. All migrants were repatriated back to Odisha by train after they were served meals. We alerted Umi Daniel of Aid et Action Odisha for reintegration in coordination with the Odisha government,” said Mahesh M. Bhagwat, Telangana CID chief.
