Hyderabad: As many as 12 sex workers were apprehended in an operation at Bhagyanagar Bus Stop under the KPHB Metro Station, Kukatpally and Madhapur areas on the night of March 28.
It was conducted by Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTU), Cyberabad, under the supervision of DCP, W&CSW, Cyberabad. Cases were registered at Kukatpally, KPHB, and Gachibowli police stations under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
Earlier, a similar operation was conducted by the same special teams, leading to the arrest of 16 individuals. Cases were registered at the concerned police stations. These individuals were also bound over by DCP, W&CSW, and Cyberabad for good behaviour and subsequently released with notices issued under Section 35 of the BNSS Act.
