Hyderabad: Fourteen police personnel of the Yadadri police station in Telangana tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. These include an assistant commissioner of police, a circle inspector, and 12 constables. The officers have been put under home isolation.
Telangana reported 2,447 new COVID-19 cases on 17 January, pushing the cumulative caseload to 7,11,656. Three COVID-19 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in the state.
On Sunday, the state had reported 2,047 cases. The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 22,197.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported the highest number of cases (1,112) in the last 24 hours followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (235), Rangareddy (183), and Hanumakonda (80).
A total of 2,295 people recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries so far to 6,85,399 constituting a recovery rate of 96.31%.
As many as 80,138 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours, out of which the results of 10,732 swab samples are awaited. A total of 3,07,09,658 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.
A total of 2,68,897 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered on Monday. Around 69,900 were the first dose, 1,80,065 were the second dose, and 18,932 were the booster dose.
