2 Bangladeshis nabbed at Hyd airport with fake Indian passports

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested two Bangladeshi nationals at Hyderabad's RGI airport on 13 April with fake Indian passports and documents. They had arrived in the city from Dubai.

The accused have been identified as Prahlad Mondal and Jai Bala.

According to the police, the two are from Gopal Gunj in Bangladesh. They had crossed the international border a couple of years ago and entered India illegally via West Bengal. After staying for a while in West Bengal, they obtained fake identity proofs and other documents like Aadhar, got fake passports using these fake documents, and travelled to Dubai.

On Tuesday, they landed at RGI airport. While passing through the emigration checks, officials noticed their documents were suspicious and alerted the police.

Later, it was found that their passports and documents were fake and they were not Indian citizens. They were handed over to the police.

The police have registered a case against the duo and sent them to judicial remand. Further investigation is underway, said the officers.

Earlier, Cyberabad police had arrested offenders for illegally providing passports to Bangladeshi nationals.

On January 25, the Cyberabad police received a complaint from an immigration officer at the RGI Airport, Shamshabad, stating that a day before (on January 24), while the complainant team was on duty at the airport at about 10.40 pm, three Bangladeshi nationals - Sanjib Dutta, Ramu Das and Mondal Sandip ā€“ approached the departure immigration counter with the intention to depart to Dubai by flight no FZ-8426 using fraudulently obtained Indian passports.

During profiling, all three revealed that they stayed at Bodhan in Nizamabad District, and with the help of an agent, Shahnaj Pail alias Sabuj, from West Bengal, obtained fake Aadhaar cards and Indian passports in their names. The three had intended to depart to Dubai and tried using the fake passports to cheat immigration authorities.

Acting on the complaint, a case under sections 420, 468, 471 IPC, Section14 of Foreigners Act, 1946 was registered against Nitai Das alias Sanjib Dutta (20), son of Lokhan Das alias Nirayan Dutta. He worked at a gold shop and was a resident of Bodhan. He was a native to Durgapur village, Meghna Thana, Comilla district in Bangladesh.

The case also recorded the name of Mohammed Rana Mia alias Sandip Mondal, (20) son of Mohammed Lal Mia alias Naren Mondal. He worked as a driver in Bodhan and was a native of Nagosha village, Shalia Thana, Magura district in Bangladesh.

The third name in the case is Mohammed Hasibur Rehman alias Ramu Das (20), son of Mohd. Tipu Miya alias Shivu Das. He was also a driver and a resident of Bodhan. He was a native of Nagosha Village, Shalika Thana, Magura district in Bangladesh.

Accused four in the case is Sameer a resident of West Bengal. Accused five is Parimal Bain alias Shivam alias Shovan (31), son of Nitto Bain. He worked as a passport agent and is a resident of Bodhan. He was a native of Goalgram village, Nanikhir Post, Muksudpur Thana, Gopalgunj district in Bangladesh.

Accused six in the case is Shahnaj Pail alias Sabuj (34), son of Tujammel Haque Pail. He was a businessman and a resident of Fataipur village, Musalamanapada, Tehatta Thana, Nadia district in West Bengal.

Accused seven in the case is Mateen Ahmed Mirza (26), son of Late Akheel Ahmed and was the proprietor of a Mee Seva Centre in Bodhan Town in Nizamabad. Accused eight is Manoj, a resident of Iraq and a native of West Bengal. Accused nine is Sadham Hussain, a resident of Mumbai and worked as a flight ticket agent.

Accused 10 is Peruka Mallesh (51), who was a sub-inspector of police in Bodhan. He worked at the Special Branch in Bodhan from 2016 to May 2019.

Accused 11 is B Anil Kumar (49), son of Gangadhar and was the ASI of police. He was a resident of Nizamabad district. He had been working at the Special Branch in Bodhan since May 2019.
