2 burglars arrested, items worth Rs. 26.5L recovered

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police on 10 April arrested two persons involved in a burglary and recovered gold and silver ornaments and cash – all worth Rs. 26.5 lakhs - from their possession.

The recovered items included 48.5 tulas gold, 53.4 silver, cash worth Rs. 1,55,000 and an iPhone.

The sleuths of CCS, Malkajgiri, and the Jawaharnagar police arrested Roshan Kumar Singh (21) of Rothas district in Bihar and Mallepula Chetan (21) of Jawaharnagar in Medchal district.

According to the police, on 16 March Molugu Veera Reddy and his wife had returned home from Nacharam to find their door lock broken and gold, silver, and cash missing from their home. He filed a complaint and a case was registered at the Jawaharnagar police station.

On Saturday, the CCS Malkajgiri team and the Jawaharnagar police rushed to the Yapral area after receiving a tip-off and apprehended the two men. During interrogation, they confessed to the theft.
