2 die in AC gas cylinder blast in Nalgonda's Barkatpura fruit market

Hyderabad: A tragic incident unfolded at the fruit market in Nalgonda Town. Two persons died on the spot when an AC gas cylinder inside a cold storage facility exploded. The incident took place at the New Star Fruits company cold storage in Barkatpura Colony.
The victims have been identified as Sheikh Kaleem, the owner of the cold storage, and Sajid, an auto driver employed at the facility. They lost their lives on the spot due to the sudden explosion while they were in the process of changing the AC cylinders in the cold storage. The impact of the explosion was so severe that their body parts were scattered throughout the area.
Inspector Routh Gopi of I Town police station stated that the cold storage is primarily used for ripening fruits such as mangoes and bananas. The AC cylinders are routinely changed every month for the proper functioning of cold storage. Unfortunately, during the process of changing the cylinder this time, it exploded, resulting in the tragic loss of two lives. The police have taken a complaint from the family members of the deceased and registered a case. The bodies will be handed over to the respective family members following the completion of the post-mortem.
