2 Maharashtra peddlers held with 34 kg of ganja in Gudimalkapur

The operation resulted in the seizure of 34 kg of ganja, an Innova car, and two mobile phones; a total worth of Rs 13.80 lakhs. The apprehended individuals were identified as Jivan Ram Rao Rathod and Anand Bheem Singh Jadhav.
Case details
Jivan (26) is a resident of Ghodaj village, Khandar, Nanded district, Maharashtra. He hatched a plan with his brother Ravi to earn money through drugs. Ravi was arrested earlier in a drug case. They aimed to procure ganja from Gadchiroli known for its ganja trade and sell it in Hyderabad for a higher profit.
On Wednesday, Jivan and Ravi purchased 34 kg of ganja for Rs 2 lakhs from Khanaya in Gadchiroli. They then travelled to Hyderabad in Anandās Innova to execute their plan.
Acting on credible information, the South West Zone Team, along with Gudimalkapur police, apprehended Jivan and Anand near Pillar No. 54, PVNR Express Highway, Rethibowli, and seized the contraband.
āThe illegal sale and possession of narcotic substances pose a serious threat to public health and safety. We are committed to eradicating such criminal activities and maintaining law and order in the city,ā said S Rashmi Perumal, IPS, deputy commissioner of Police, Task Force, Hyderabad.
A case has been registered and an investigation is on.
