2 men from WB held for series of burglaries in Hyderabad

The police arrested two notorious house burglars from West Bengal who were involved in 14 cases in the Rachakonda and Cyberabad areas. They recovered 520 grams of gold ornaments, 500 grams silver ornaments, cash Rs. 91,000, and other items, all worth Rs. 27.16 lakh, from their possession.

On 4 February, the sleuths of CCS LB Nagar team along with the Vanasthalipuram police apprehended Rafikul Khan (33) and Shaik Suraj (30) – residents of Murshidabad, West Bengal – under the Vanasthalipuram police station limits. During questioning, they confessed to committing various burglaries. They were sent to court for judicial remand.

Later, the Vanasthalipuram police took them into custody for 10 days, from 7 to 14 February, to recover stolen property from Murshidabad. A team went to Murshidabad and recovered 525 grams of gold ornaments.

According to the police, the two men used to recce colonies during the day and then break into the homes at night and decamp with gold, silver, and cash. After committing three to four burglaries, they returned to their village in West Bengal with the stolen items. They would come back to Hyderabad after a few days and start robbing houses again.
