2 notorious criminals who stole raw rations worth ₹10 L, arrested by Rachakonda cops
By Newsmeter Network Published on 12 Jun 2021 11:45 AM GMTHyderabad: The Rachakonda police on Saturday arrested two notorious criminals who robbed vehicles loaded with rice, oil, and other food items. They recovered stolen materials worth Rs. 10.2 lakhs.
On Saturday, the police apprehended Mohd Abdul Raheem (32) and Tummu Sai Nanda Kishore (36) at their residence in Malakpet. They seized 1,920 kg of oil, four tonnes of rice, 1,100 kg cumin, 2,250 kg groundnuts, and two motor cycles from them.
The two have been involved in several crimes in the Cyberabad, Hyderabad, and Rachakonda areas, the police said. Raheem had earlier been arrested in seven cheating cases in Panjagutta, Marredpally, Chilakalaguda, Ramgopalpet, Osmania University, Begumpet, and Tukaramgate police station limits. Meanwhile, Kishore was involved in 27 cases in various police stations in the city and in 2019, the Hyderabad commissioner of police had involved the PD Act against him.
The two men targeted trucks and lorries loaded with rice, groundnuts, and oil that were parked by the roadsides. They would wake up the drivers and introduce themselves as the owners. They also targeted rice shops and robbed them by diverting the attention of the shopkeepers.
