20YO who raped minor in Vanasthalipuram arrested 24hrs after crime

Hyderabad: The Vanasthalipuram police on Saturday arrested a man for the rape of a 13-year-old girl within 24 hours of the crime and remanded him to judicial custody.
A case under various sections of the IPC, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012, and the SCs & STs (POA) Amendment Act 2015 has been registered against the man.
The accused is Sadarapalli Sai Kumar, a 20-yearold who was earlier involved in a similar crime in Vanasthalipuram. He had been arrested under the POCSO Act case and two other cases registered at the Hayathnagar police station.
Sai was working as a tea master in tea stall in Vanasthalipuram after he was released from jail. There he met the victim a year ago. On 14 July 2021, he found the minor girl alone and took her to a room in Vanathalipuram where he sexually assaulted her by promising to marry her.
