Visakhapatnam: In task force arrested a drug peddler and seized 63 LSD blots from him. The accused has been identified as 25-year-old B. Girish Teja Naidu of Gajuwaka. He was trading synthetic drugs in Gajuwaka and surrounding areas.
He used to procure the drugs from his online friends through Instagram and sell them at higher prices. "Naidu was a drug user and later turned drug supplier to make easy money. He used to procure the drugs from Bengaluru, Goa, and Hyderabad and sell them to his friends in Vizag city. He procured them for Rs. 1,000 and sold them for Rs. 2,000. He got 80 LSD blots and sold a few of them," said the commissioner of police, C.H Srikanth. The police are trying to unearth other links in the chain.
According to the Anti-Narcotics Drugs cell, 94 cases of selling or procuring injections and drugs have been registered in Vizag in the last few months.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police has appealed to the parents to keep a close watch on their children and seek professional counselling if they notice any abnormal behaviour or signs of depression. "Parents may also avail the facility of the city police counselling centre 'Marpu' where several drug-addicted children are given counselling," he added.
