Hyderabad: A 25-year-old software developer was killed when he was hit by GHMC's Disaster Response Force (DRF) vehicle at Cyber towers junction in Madhapur on Saturday night.

The victim was identified as Manyam Sai Ganesh. He received severe head injury and died en route to the hospital.

A case has been registered against the vehicle driver. Police confirmed that the vehicle driver was speeding at the time of the incident. He was tested for drunken driving, but was found negative, police clarified.

Police said that Sai Ganesh had a helmet with him, but that was placed on the fuel tank. Had he been wearing the helmet, there were chances of survival, the police said.

According to police, Manyam Sai Ganesh who hails from Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh has been residing at KPHB. He was working as a software developer for Techouts company at Gachibowli for the past four months.

On Saturday night at around 9.30, he was on his bike passing through the Cyber towers junction. The DRF vehicle was also moving in the same direction.

The front portion of the vehicle hit the bike's handle on the right. Such was the impact that Sai Ganesh flung in the air and landed on the road a few meters away. He received severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital immediately. However, he died of severe bleeding.
