3 held in Dundigal for robbing jewellery store; 15 kg of silver seized

Hyderabad: Dundigal police arrested three persons who are allegedly involved in a jewellery store theft case. The accused have been identified as Chetan Prakash and Sirajuddin from Rajasthan and Kalu Kag @ Kaluram from Madhya Pradesh.

Case details

The case started when a burglary occurred on the midnight of November 7 at Someshwar Jewellery, Bowrampet, Dundigal Mandal, Medchal District.

Immediately, the crime team and CCS, Medchal, were deputed to trace out the accused. While they were searching for the accused persons, they arrested the accused 1 and 2 in Rajasthan State on November 11 and the 3 at Bahadurpally, Dundigal on November 26.

Modus operandi

The accused persons noticed one vacant shutter beside the Someshwar Jewellery Shop, Bowrampet, and they decided to commit an offence.

As per their plan, the accused persons took the shutter for rent. Inside, they made a hole in the jewellery shop with a crowbar and committed a theft of about 15 kg of silver from the shop.

They gave Kalu Kag as much as 3.5 kg and the remaining they sold in Bengaluru. The 3.5 kg was recovered from him and the remaining stolen property was seized from Chetan Prakash and Sirajuddin. Efforts are in progress to arrest the remaining three accused persons who are absconding in this case.

The police seized 15 kg of silver items, a Bollero vehicle and a crowbar.

Public appeal

Before giving rent to the tenant, first collect the documents from the tenant and verify his native place and his whereabouts to avoid any future offences.
