Hyderabad: Three people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion that took place at the home of 60-year-old Bismillah Bee in the Hakeempet area of Hyderabad on Thursday.

The incident occurred after Bismillah Bee received a gas cylinder delivery from HP Gas Agency, Shaikpet dargah branch, and noticed a gas leak. She immediately contacted the agency and a technician named Mahesh arrived at her home to inspect the cylinder.

According to the Banjara Hills police, Mahesh changed the gas regulator and lit the gas, assuring Bismillah Bee and her family that nothing would happen. However, within seconds, the gas caught fire and engulfed the room, causing severe burns to Bismillah Bee, her son Naseer (37), and Mahesh (36) himself.

Nearby people heard their screams and quickly poured water on them with the help of their relatives. The injured were then taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Banjara Hills police have registered a case and the incident is currently under investigation.
