Amaravati: Three students, all minors, drowned in a Musi river near M Nidamanuru in Tanguturi mandal, Prakasam district, on 27 February.
The three boys –Vasu (15), Jagan (12), and Mahesh (13) – were students of the Zilla Parishad high school in Nidamanuru.
According to the police, on Sunday, the three boys went to play cricket at a nearby river. Later, they went swimming despite the warnings of some farmers.
When the three did not return home by night, their families who knew that the boys had been playing near the river immediately informed the police who launched search operations. On 28 February, their bodies were found floating in the waters.
The bodies of the deceased were sent to the government hospital for post-mortem.
