3 women from Maharashtra held for stealing jewellery at Lingampally; 78 g of gold recovered

Hyderabad: An interstate gang of three women offenders from Maharashtra who were stealing jewellery from train passengers at Lingampalli railway station were arrested.

As much as 78 g of gold ornaments worth Rs 5 lakhs were recovered from them. The accused have been identified as Renuka Jadhav (37), Anu Deva (38) and Sitabai Shavarappa Gaikwad (49), all are residents of Solapur in Maharashtra.

According to the police, the three were involved in an offence on February 12 at Lingampalli Railway Station. They were booked under sections 379 IPC of RPS Hyderabad and from their possession, the police seized part of the stolen jewellery.

The stolen property involved two gold chains (20 grams), a gold chain (25 grams), a gold chain (10 grams) and four gold rings (20 grams). Total jewellery weighing 78 grams worth Rs 5 lakhs stolen by them in the limits of RPS Hyderabad was recovered.

Under the leadership of SN Jawed, DSRP Secunderabad Urban, B Praveen Kumar, IRP/Hyderabad, along with crime staff Narsing Rathod, Shakeel Pasha, Bhagyamma, M Yamuna, Thara, D Swaroopa, apprehended the accused persons.
