3 youths rape 21YO woman in front of her friend in East Godavari

East Godavari: A 21-year old woman was allegedly raped in front of her friend by three youngsters in East Godavari. The incident took place over two weeks ago and came to light on 13 May when the victim approached the police following threat calls from one of the accused.
According to the police, the victim along with a male friend went to the beach around two weeks ago. There the three drunk youngsters noticed the girl and started harassing her. When the two tried to resist, the trio tied the boy and beat him up. Later, they stripped the girl and allegedly raped her in front of the boy. They also took nude pictures of the girl on their mobile phones. Though the victim raised an alarm and screamed for help, there was no one to save her.
The victim and her friend left the place without lodging any police complaint citing that their identities may be exposed. However, one of the accused who had taken the victim's phone number started blackmailing her and threatened to upload her pictures on social networking platforms.
Unable to bear the harassment, the victim narrated the entire episode to her family. She along with parents then lodged a police complaint. The East Godavari police have registered a case. The victim was also sent for medical tests.
Based on the descriptions given by the victim, the cops have swung into action to identify the accused persons. The police have formed a special team to nab them.
