35 Fortwin injections seized from scrap shop in Vizags Duvvada; 3 held

Visakhapatnam: A total of 35 Fortwin sedative injections were found by the Duvvada police at a scrap shop in Visakhapatnam limits. Three persons involved in the drug business were arrested for selling drugs under the guise of scrap business.

According to Duvvada CI Srinivasa Rao, one accused, N Maheswar Reddy of Allipuram in Vizag, runs a scrap shop near Yadava Jaggarajupeta, Auto Nagar. Another two arrested are Chaitanya and Srirama Reddy. Accused, Anupam Adhikar of West Bengal, has absconded.

Locals who suspected him of selling drugs and reported to the police. On conducting raids, the police teams found 35 injections, cigarettes with ganja, and 20 grams of ganja powder hidden in the scrap shop. The accused are selling each injection for Rs 300.


A preliminary investigation found that the accused received the sedative injections from West Bengal, which were sold further. The police also found used injections and needles in a car used by the accused to transport drugs. Police suspect that the drug business has been running for six months, especially targeting students.

"The scrap shop has been located for a year, and we see students coming on bikes in late evenings. Local boys decided to check what was happening, and we closely monitored them. We immediately informed the police, who conducted raids and found drugs", said a local.

A case has been registered, and the Vizag Task Force will investigate.
