4 members of Telangana family die by suicide in Vijayawada
Prior to the incident, they had sent a voice message to their family members at around 2 a.m saying that they were ending their lives.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 Jan 2022 9:00 AM GMTFour members of a family from Telangana died by suicide in two different locations in Vijayawada during the early hours of Friday. The incident happened in Brahamana Veedhi near Sri Kanyaka Parameswari temple and on the Krishna river.
The four were identified as 56-year-old Pappula Suresh who owns a petrol bunk and a medical shop, his wife P. Sri Latha (54), and two sons P. Akhil (28) and P. Ashish (22). The family was from Nizamabad.
According to the police, the family visited Vijayawada on 6 January and had darshan at the Ammavaru temple. At around 2 a.m on 7 January, Suresh and his elder son died by suicide by jumping into the Krishna river near Pillar no. 52 while his wife and younger son consumed poison in the room in Brahamana Veedhi near the temple premises where they were staying.
Prior to the incident, they had sent a voice message to their family members at around 2 a.m saying that they were ending their lives. Immediately, the family lodged a complaint with the Vijayawada police. However, the police were unable to trace their whereabouts in Vijayawada and couldn't save them.
On Saturday morning, two bodies were found in the Krishna river and two in the ashram. Sources said financial crisis may have been the reason for their deaths. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
