4 UP drug peddlers caught in Hyderabad; 52 kg ganja seized

Hyderabad: Four interstate drug peddlers were arrested by the special operations team (SOT), LB Nagar zone, on 6 April. They seized 52 kg of ganja, one litre of hash oil, and mobile phones – all worth Rs. 12.80 lakh – from their possession.

Acting on specific information, the SOT team along with the Malkajgiri police arrested Fayyum (26), Junaid (26), Sarikh (22), and Mohd. Nazim (24). All are from Uttar Pradesh.

The police found that one of the accused, Vijay, was purchasing ganja from the Vizag Agency areas and transporting them to Delhi through hired agents. Another accused, Imran, was then purchasing the drug from Vijay and sending his agents to collect the ganja.

Imran had hired Fayyum, Junaid, Sarikh, and Nazim – all residents of Ghaziabad – and booked train tickets for them to Vizag from New Delhi. He had sent them to collect ganja from Vijay. As per Imran's instructions, they boarded the train on 3 April and reached Vizag two days later. They collected ganja and hash oil from Vijay, packed them in bags, and boarded the Garibrath Express at Duvvada railway station in Vishakapatnam on 5 April.

They got down at Moula-Ali station the next morning to evade police checks at the Secunderabad railway station. They stayed at Moula-Ali station till 8 p.m. They planned to go to Delhi in the Dakshin Express. Accordingly, they started from Moula-Ali station for Secunderabad by bus. When they reached the ZTS crossroads, the police apprehend the four men along with the ganja and hash oil.
