48YO Vizag man held for harassing woman online, threatening her with nude photos

Visakhapatnam: The cybercrime police arrested a 48-year-old man for harassing a woman online. The accused, Thirumalashetti Kanaka Raju, is a resident of MVP Colony in Vizag city. He befriended a woman from the city by posing as an HR professional of a Bengaluru-based software firm. He then promised to marry her and give her a job in the software company, the ADCP (CCS), D.S Sravan Kumar, said.

The woman believed him and sent her resume, photos, and other documents to Raju. He then asked her to post some nude pictures and videos. She initially refused but later, she sent some photos and videos with the hope that he would marry her and get her a good job. However, Raju was harassing her for the past few weeks, asking her to send more nude photos and videos. He also threatened to expose her if she failed to do so. Unable to bear the harassment, the woman approached the cyber crime police station on 22 June.

Based on her complaint, the police nabbed Raju. Further investigation is on, the police added.
