Chittoor: A day after a four-day-old baby was kidnapped in Visakhapatnam, another similar incident was reported in Chittoor where a six-day-old baby boy was kidnapped from the Chittoor government hospital.

According to sources, Shabana gave birth to a baby boy on 14 March in the Chittoor government hospital. In the early hours of Saturday, a woman kidnapped the infant from the hospital. A CCTV footage released by the Chittoor Town police showed three women, one of them carrying the infant in a shopping bag, escaping from the hospital.

According to the baby's father Rashid, the negligence of the security personnel resulted in their baby being kidnapped. He requested the police to find their baby immediately. The Chittoor town police have formed teams and are searching nearby bus stations, railway stations, and other busy areas.

A similar incident was reported in Visakhapatnam a day ago. The police rescued the infant within 24 hours. The accused had made a deal with a childless couple to sell the baby.
