6-year-long chase: Telangana CID arrest Punjab native for job fraud

Hyderabad: The Telangana CID NBWs Special Execution Team arrested a person who has been evading arrest for six years after allegedly cheating people of Rs 48 lakhs with false promises of assured employment.

Case details

The accused has been identified as Vikas Khindar (41), a resident of Jalandhar in Punjab. The police said that Vikas collected money from the complainants in the guise of providing job chances in Canada. He also promised to get them job visas. But he cheated his clients with a total of Rs 48 lakhs. Two cases were registered against him and NBWs (non-bailable warrants) were issued against him. The accused has been absconding since the commission of the offence and two NBWs have been pending against him since 2018.

The cases were transferred to Telangana CID. Recently, a team of CID officials travelled to Jalandhar and arrested the Vikas on May 27 at Basti Dhanish Mandi, Jalandhar. Addl. DGP, CID, TG, Shikha Goel, IPS, appreciated the NBWs Special Execution Team who have done painstaking work in tracing the accused who has been accused for so many years. The teams will be suitably awarded.
