8-year-old boy brutally murdered by neighbour in Sanath Nagar
The investigation has revealed that a financial issue between the victim’s father and the accused led to the murder
By Newsmeter Network Published on 21 April 2023 2:00 PM GMTHyderabad: In a brutal incident, the body of an eight-year-old boy, Abdul Wahed Khan, was found tied and stuffed in a plastic container in a nala. He was murdered by a neighbour, Imran Ali Khan, on Thursday evening in Allauddin Koti under the Sanath Nagar police station limits of Cyberabad.
While the boy’s family initially alleged that Imran killed the boy to offer him as a human sacrifice on the night of the full moon, the police have ruled out this theory and instead suspect a financial dispute as the motive for the murder.
Imran, a trans woman, has been taken into custody along with an auto driver who helped dispose of the victim’s body. The police are currently questioning them and conducting a thorough investigation into the incident. While the boy’s family and locals vandalised the accused’s house in retaliation, causing a tense situation in the area, the police have appealed for calm and are assuring the public that justice will be served.
According to DCP Balanagar zone T. Srinivasa Rao, the investigation has revealed that a financial issue between the victim’s father and the accused led to the murder, and there is no evidence to support the initial theory of a human sacrifice. “We are probing into all angles,” he said. The police have registered a case under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC against the accused.
Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited Abdul’s family to offer his condolences and support. He also directed the police to expedite the investigation and promised strict punishment for the accused. The government will provide all necessary assistance, including financial support, to the family, he said.
