Hyderabad: The central crime station police on Saturday arrested a 37-year-old man who had cheated many people with fake real estate deals.
The accused has been identified as Syed Shahid, a resident of Aghapura in Hyderabad.
Syed along with Pediripati Shekar Goud had prepared a fake agreement of sale for an open plot of 1,500 square yards of a private company at Moosapet village. They approached a businessman from Banjara Hills and offered the plot for Rs. 11.25 crore. The man bought the plot and paid Rs. 1.10 crore as advance.
On the complaint of the businessman, a case was registered at CCS. Goud was arrested on 8 November but Shahid was absconding. He was arrested on 4 December by a team of police officers of the detective department of CCS. He was produced before the court for judicial remand.
Syed had earlier cheated a person to the tune of Rs. 11.50 lakhs and had also assaulted another person, the police said.
