ACB arrests Badangpet TPO, aide for accepting Rs. 30k bribe

Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Akula Ashok, Town Planning Officer (TPO) of the Badangpet Municipal Corporation, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.

ACB said the accused officer performed his duties improperly and dishonestly.

Akula Ashok along with A. Srinivas Raju, a private architect at Chinni Sai Architects, located opposite the Badangpet Municipal Corporation were caught red-handed by the ACB officials, Ranga Reddy Range.

Akula Ashok demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs.30,000 from the complainant A.Devender Reddy, a resident of Saroor Nagar, for granting house construction permission. The money was accepted through A. Srinivas Raju, Private Architect.

The bribe amount of Rs.30,000 was recovered from the office table drawer of Srinivas Raju.

Ashok and Srinivas Raju were arrested and will be produced before the court.
