ACB arrests civil supplies official in Wanaparthy, village secretary in Suryapet for taking bribes
Hyderabad: In two separate anti-corruption operations, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday caught three persons red-handed for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes for official favours in Wanaparthy District and Suryapet District.
ACB traps civil supplies official, driver in Wanaparthy
Kumba Jagan Mohan, Assistant Manager (Accounts) and In-charge District Manager at the State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, Wanaparthy, along with his private driver, Laudya Laxman Naik, were caught while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
According to ACB officials, the accused sought the bribe from a rice mill owner in exchange for allotment of government CMR (Custom Milled Rice) paddy to the complainant’s rice mill in Wanaparthy district.
The ACB team laid a trap following a complaint and apprehended the duo while accepting the bribe amount.
Village secretary held for bribery in Suryapet
In another case, Barpati Krishna, Panchayat Secretary of Ganugabanda village in Thungathurthy mandal of Suryapet district, was arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000.
ACB officials said the amount was demanded from the complainant to allot a house number to a newly constructed residential building. The trap was laid after the complainant approached the ACB, leading to the official’s arrest while accepting the bribe.
Cases registered, probe on
The ACB has registered separate cases against all the accused under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain if others were involved in the offences.

ACB officials reiterated that public servants demanding bribes will face strict legal action and urged citizens to report corruption without fear.
