ACB arrests Jagtial deputy tahsildar, document writer for taking Rs 10,000 bribe

Jagtial: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested Jatangula Ganesh, deputy tahsildar and in-charge tahsildar of Raikal Mandal, Jagtial district, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 through a private document writer in connection with an agricultural land registration.

According to ACB officials, the officer was caught red-handed around 5:41 pm in his office while accepting the bribe amount from the complainant through an intermediary, Md. Muzaffar, a 41-year-old private document writer.

The bribe was sought for facilitating the registration of 1.025 acres of agricultural land in Singaraopeta village, Raikal Mandal.

The ACB team recovered the tainted Rs 10,000 cash from Mujafar’s possession. A chemical test conducted on the accused showed a positive reaction on the fingers of his left hand, confirming his involvement in the transaction.

The bureau stated that the public servant had abused his official position and acted improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage. Both accused have been taken into custody and will be presented before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases in Karimnagar.

The identity of the complainant has been withheld to ensure their safety. The case is currently under active investigation.
