ACB arrests tahsildar, surveyor, municipal officer in Ranga Reddy for taking bribes
Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday trapped three government officials in separate incidents in Ranga Reddy district on charges of demanding and accepting bribes for official favours.
Tahsildar and Surveyor held in Amangal
ACB officials said Chintakindi Lalitha, Tahsildar of Amangal Mandal, and Kota Ravi, Mandal Surveyor, were arrested for taking bribes related to land records.
The duo allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh from a complainant to complete land registration formalities and correct typographical errors in records pertaining to the complainant’s grandmother’s property.
They had already received Rs 50,000 earlier and were caught red-handed while accepting the balance amount of Rs 50,000.
Municipality staff trapped in Tandur
In another case, B Ramesh, Senior Assistant at the Tandur Municipality, was trapped by the ACB while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.
He had allegedly demanded the money from a complainant in return for allotting a house number to a shed constructed in Tandur.
All the accused officials were taken into custody and produced before the designated court. Further investigations are underway, the ACB said.
