ACB catches Meerpet SI taking Rs 10,000 bribe to process complaint

By Newsmeter Network Published on 30 March 2024 9:18 AM GMTHyderabad: On Saturday, Boddupally Saidulu, the sub-inspector of Police at Meerpet Police Station, Rachakonda Commissionerate, was caught red-handed by the ACB officials of the Ranga Reddy unit while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The issue came to light when the complainant, Madhani Subash, a real estate businessman and resident of Gurramguda village, Balapur Mandal, was asked to pay a bribe for official work which was to ādrop action on the complaint given by one Nazmuddinā. The accused officer performed their public duty improperly and dishonestly, the ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) said.
The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of SI at his residence. The fingers on both hands and contact portion i.e. the right-side front pocket of the accused yielded positive results in the chemical test used to mark with conclusive proof people who handled bribe money.
Boddupally Saidulu was arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases court at Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.
