ACB catches Pulivendula deputy tahsildar taking Rs 10,000 bribe for land registration

Kadapa: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials raided the RDO office in Pulivendula and caught a Deputy Tahsildar red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Friday.

Bribe asked for mosque committee for land registration

The accused official, identified as Deputy Tahsildar Nagendra Prasad, was reportedly working at the Pulivendula RDO office.

According to ACB officials, he demanded Rs 10,000 from members of a mosque committee for processing the online registration of 36 acres belonging to a mosque in Kumarakalva village of Chakrayapeta mandal.

Following the demand, one of the committee members, Kareemulla, approached the ACB and lodged a complaint.

Trap laid by ACB

Acting on the complaint, a team led by Kadapa ACB DSP Sitarama Rao laid a trap at the RDO office. The officials caught Nagendra Prasad while he was allegedly accepting the bribe amount from the complainant.

The Deputy Tahsildar was arrested on the spot. ACB DSP Sitarama Rao stated that the accused will be produced before the ACB Court in Kurnool for further legal proceedings.

The ACB reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against corrupt officials and urged citizens to report any instances of bribery or corruption.
