ACB catches TGSPDCL lineman, Bhadradri SI taking bribes
Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a junior lineman of TGSPDCL red-handed in Hyderabad and booked a Sub-Inspector from Bhadradri Kothagudem district for alleged bribery. Both officials face criminal misconduct charges.
Lineman held in Hyderabad trap
A Srikanth Goud, a junior lineman working in the Gachibowli division of TGSPDCL, was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 11,000 from a complainant.
According to the ACB, he had demanded Rs 30,000 to change the wiring at the complainant’s house to upgrade the electricity inflow from 5 KV to 11 KV and to unseal and reseal the power meter.
The bribe amount was seized from his possession.
Manuguru SI booked for bribe demand
In a separate case, the ACB registered a case of criminal misconduct against Bathini Ranjith, Sub-Inspector of Manuguru police station in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
The SI had allegedly demanded Rs 40,000 from a complainant after issuing notices under Section 35(3) of the BNSS Act in connection with Crime No. 292/2025, registered under Sections 8(iv), 296(3) read with 3(v) of the BNS Act.
Officials said Ranjith was arrested and produced before the Special ACB Court at Warangal. The complainant’s details were withheld for security reasons.
