ACB nabs two Palvancha medical college officials taking Rs 3 lakh bribe
The duo earlier asked for Rs 7 lakhs, and on Tuesday were caught accepting Rs 3 lakhs as initial payment
By Newsmeter Network Published on 29 Oct 2024 1:44 PM GMTHyderabad: Two officials at a government medical college in Palvancha, Bhadrari Kothagudem district, were caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 3 lakhs by the ACB officials on Tuesday.
The accused were identified as Syed Khaleelullah alias Khaleel, administrative officer and junior assistant; and Damalla Sudhakar, junior assistant of the government medical college.
The Khamma Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths caught the officers demanding and accepting a bribe for performing their duty to prepare salary bills for outsourcing employees and to reinstate the 23 outsourcing employees, who were removed from the government medical college.
The duo earlier asked for Rs 7 lakhs, and on Tuesday were caught accepting Rs 3 lakhs as initial payment. The accused officers were arrested for āperforming their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.ā
The bribe was recovered from the office table of the accused officer and his right-hand fingers which came into contact with the tainted amount yielded positive results in the chemical test. Both were arrested and produced before the special court for SPE&ACB cases in Warangal. Further investigation is in progress.
