ACB officials nab Khammam PS head constable while taking Rs 50,000 bribe

Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials, Khammam, caught P Koteshwar, head constable (writer) of Khammam II town police station under Khammam commissionerate on Thursday late night while the police official was taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 near the government hospital.
According to the case details, Koteshwar had allegedly asked for a bribe of Rs 1,50,000 and agreed to take Rs 50,000 as initial payment from the complainant Burle Vishnu, a resident of Ramchandraiahnagar in Khammam, in exchange for showing official favour i.e. āto serve 41A CrPO notices to complainant and his family members in under sections 420, 406, 506 IPC of Khammam ll town PS,ā as per the ACB statement.

The bribe amount was recovered from the AO. The left-hand fingers of AO and the contact portion i.e. left side front pocket of AOās pants yielded positive results in the chemical test.
Koteshwar Rao was arrested and produced before the First Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation. In case any public servant is found asking for bribes, the public is requested to contact the toll-free number 1064.
