Adilabad: A 30-year-old man ended his life after he did not receive benefits under the Dalit Bandhu Scheme in the Adilabad district.
Identified as Singidi Ramakanth, the 30-year-old from Bhoraj in Jainad Mandal was allegedly perturbed over not receiving benefits under the Dalit Bandhu Scheme.
In the suicide note, the deceased held the Chief Minister responsible for taking this extreme step.
According to villagers, he had tried to question BRS leaders the previous day about their failure in sanctioning cash relief under the scheme. Passers-by notified police about the body lying on the approach road. The body was subsequently shifted to the RIMS hospital mortuary.
Today, villagers staged a protest near the mortuary demanding the lodging of the case against the CM and BRS candidate for the Adilabad assembly constituency Jogu Ramanna. They held both of them responsible for the death of the youth.
Opposition demands an enquiry
