Afzalgunj police arrest childless couple who kidnapped 3YO
Twenty hours after a three-year-old girl was kidnapped, the Afzalgunj police arrested the kidnappers on 16 November.

On 14 November, Sangati Jaya Laxmi of Kondapur, along with her daughter and some relatives were at Afzalgunj to board a bus for Bellari in Karnataka. However, her cousin's husband, Nagarjuna, said he did not want to go to Bellari and got off the bus. While Jaya was trying to convince him to come along, she realized that her daughter Avantika was nowhere to be found.

They searched for her, but in vain. Meanwhile, one of their fellow passengers informed them that a woman in a red saree had taken away her daughter. She was accompanied by a man, they said.
The two arrested persons have been identified as husband-wife duo Sangamoni Shivudu (31) and SangamoniParvathamma (30). They are residents of Sanginaipalle village under Veepangandla mandal in Mahabubnagar district. Sangamoni Shivudu has a criminal history and is involved in several cases.
According to the police, the two got married six years ago but had no children. On Saturday, the couple boarded a bus from Jagithyal, where they worked, for their native village. They were at the MGBS bus stop in Afzalgunj waiting for a bus at around 9.30 p.m when they saw the three-year-old and kidnapped her.
