Special 26: Akhila Priya hired fake IT officials from an event manager

Hyderabad: An extensive Investigation into the abduction case involving former TDP Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya and her husband has revealed that an event manager scripted the plan.

Hyderabad police have arrested the event manager and few others for helping the duo in hiring 15-20 men who posed as Income Tax officials and stormed the house of victims in Bowenpally.

Hyderabad police had registered a case against Bhuma Akhila Priya, her Husband and accomplice A V Subba Reddy for allegedly involved in the abduction of three brothers Praveen Rao, Naveen, and Sunil from Bowenpally over a land dispute.

While Akhila Priya has been arrested, her husband Bhargav Ram is on the run. Police said Akhila Priya, her husband Bhargav Ram, her brother Jagath Vikhyath Reddy alias Vikhyath Reddy and her follower Guntur Srinu held a meeting at her residence in Lodha apartments and finalized the plan for the kidnap.

Giving details, police said one of the conspirators Guntur Srinu, a close aide of Akhila, contacted the event manager Madala Siddhartha.

Srinu tasked him to arrange 15-20 boys to execute their plan. He promised to pay him an amount of Rs. 5 lakhs and Rs. 25,000 to each of the 15 to 20 men.

He also paid an advance of Rs. 74,000 to him and lodged the men in `At Home' Lodge near Forum Mall, Kukatpally. He also took measurements of all the men for stitching clothes.

Akhila's husband Bhargav Ram through other accused, Mallikarjun Reddy and Sampath got 10 stamp papers --5 each in the name of Bhargav Ram and Vikyath Reddy.

Guntur Srinu along with Sampath and Mallikarjun Reddy went to a mobile shop to buy six basic mobile phones. Later they bought a toy pistol, rope, and plasters which were later used in the offence.

What did they purchase to execute the kidnap?

Fake numbers of vehicles were printed on paper at a Xerox shop and superimposed on the number plates of vehicles.

On January 5 at about 4 pm, all the accused persons assembled at MGH School, Yousufguda, where they were briefed by Bhargav Ram about the plan.

According to cops, Sampath and Bala Chennaiah conducted the reconnaissance of the victim's house.

As per their plan, they started in 5-four wheelers and proceeded to the house of the victim at Manovikas Nagar. They barged into the house and confined the inmates in a room. They showed fake ID cards and search warrants. Later they made the victims sit in the Hall on the pretext of interrogating them.

They also confiscated cell phones and tabs from the house inmates and tied the hands of Praveen Kumar, Naveen Kumar, and Sunil Kumar with a rope. They also blindfolded them before bundling them in three different vehicles. Before speeding away, they bolted the house from outside.

They took the victims to a guesthouse of Bhargav Rao at Moinabad where they forced them to sign on stamp papers.

After getting the whiff that police was looking for the victims and accused, they released the abducted persons on the same night near Sun City, Outer Ring Road before escaping from the spot.
