Hyderabad: A man axed his wife to death and threw the two-month-old baby into a water tank in Anajpura village. Abdullahpurmet police have registered a case and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
Inspector Swamy of Abdullapurmet said Lavanya, a 28-year-old woman from Bandaravirala village in Abdullahpurmet Mandal, was married to Erpula Dhanraj from Anajpura village in 2018.
The couple was blessed with two children. Lavanya had been staying at her mother's house with her daughter Adya (2) and a two-month-old son, since the birth of her second child.
Dhanraj had been torturing her and demanding dowry. Despite the intervention of elders, Dhanraj did not change his behavior.
Swamy said Dhanraj took Lavanya and their two children to Anajpura village, claiming that their son needed to receive his monthly vaccination. However, around 1:30 pm, Dhanraj had a fight with Lavanya and he killed her with an axe. Later he threw their two-month-old son into a water tank before fleeing from the spot.
The deceased's father filed a complaint, and the police registered a case and launched the investigation.
