Anakapalle: How stolen mobile phone helped police to crack murder of 13YO boy

Police have cracked the murder case of 13-year-old-student P Suresh and arrested one accused from Tirupati.

On October 17, Suresh was found murdered in a cashew orchard on the outskirts of Padalapalem village.

Police have arrested Ganisetti Suri Venkata Nageswara Rao ( 25), a native of K Tadapala village under Makavarapalem Mandal in Anakapalle district.

Sub- Inspector of Rolugunta N Kartheek said the victim Suresh was a Class- VIII student of Padalapalem. His father Ramu is a laborer.

"There were no family disputes involved. We got a clue that the victim had used his mobile phone hours before his death. We examined the call data records and questioned some people," he said.

Since the mobile phone was missing after his death, the police took the help of the IT team. "We found someone was using the victim's mobile device with a different SIM card," the Sub-Inspector added.

The investigation revealed that someone had sold the mobile phone to a local store owner in Anakapalle. Later, the owner of the store sold the mobile phone to another person. "We got some details of the seller. Weizeroed in on Nageswara Rao and nabbed him from Tirupati," he said.

The investigation has revealed that Nageswara Rao tried to snatch the mobile phone from Suresh. When the boy resisted, Nageswara Rao strangled the boy to death with a wire.

Anakapalle district police chief Gowthami Sali appreciated sub-inspector Kartheek for solving the murder case.
