Visakhapatnam: A youngster allegedly raped a 15-year-old-girl for over two years in a village under Yelamanchili police station limits in Anakapalle district. He had promised to marry her. The police registered a case against the youth and his family members.
The police said the girl, a student, and the accused, 22-year-old B. Nanaji, lived in the same locality. Nanaji lured her by promising to marry her. He raped her for two years. The accused has completed his intermediate and is unemployed.
Nanaji also asked the girl to steal money from her house. The police found that the girl's father had kept Rs. 12.5 lakh cash in an almirah. The girl stole almost Rs. 11 lakh cash and secretly gave it to Nanaji and his family. The girl's father was shocked to find the cash missing. When he discovered the affair between his daughter and Nanaji, he approached the youth and asked him to marry his daughter after she attained legal age. Nanaji, however, turned down his request.
The victim and her parents lodged a complaint against Nanaji and his family following which the police registered a case against them under various sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act 2012. Nanaji is absconding.
