Amaravati: Crime Investigation Department (CID) has registered a case against actor and YSR Congress Party leader Posani Krishna Murali for allegedly making derogatory comments against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
CID registered a case based on a complaint by Bandaru Vamsikrishna, a leader of Telugu Yuvatha, the youth wing of Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
In his complaint, Vamsikrishna stated that Posani made false allegations and defamatory comments against Naidu during a press conference in September. His comments have tarnished the image of the CM.
Posani has been booked under sections 111, 196, 353, 299, 341, and 336 (3) of Bharat Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
This is the second case against Posani in Andhra. Last week, a case was registered against him at RIMS Police Station in Kadapa Posani, for making alleged derogatory comments against Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.
It may be noted that a week ago, a case was registered against filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma for allegedly posting morphed images of Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on social media.
Prakasam district superintendent of police AR Damodar said Varma was booked for allegedly morphing the pictures of Naidu, Kalyan, and their family members and posting them on social media.
