Amaravati: A few days after Telugu Desam Party National Spokesperson B Pattabhi posted a video showing casino-like arrangements, tables set up for gambling with many people around, made at a convention center in Gudivada, the Superintendent of police, Krishna District Siddharth Kaushal directed for an inquiry and to submit a report.
The TDP leaders on 17 January gave a representation to the District Superintendent of Krishna District alleging that the YSRCP leaders in the name of celebrating the Sankranthi festival had raised curtains to introduce gambling, betting, and vulgar dances in several parts of the state. In the letter, it was mentioned that on 16 January, the Kanuma festival, the ruling party leaders had allowed a free hand to the anti-social elements to gamble, bet and participate in vulgar acts at K Convention located in Gudivada. It is widely believed that amount to the tune of Rs. 500 crores in cash was exchanged at the casino.
The TDP leaders in the letter appealed to inquire into this issue and take stringent action.
Responding to the complaint filed, Nuzivada DSP Srinivasalu has been appointed as the investigation officer in this case. Mr. Siddharth Kaushal has been asked to submit a report.
In a recent video that went viral, Mr. Pattabhi alleged that the Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani's gang was running crores of business through casinos in the city. He asked the DGP and the concerned police officials to take immediate action.
