Hyderabad: A timely intervention by cops saved the life of a girl who jumped into Durgam Lake.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when a girl tried to commit suicide by jumping from the cable bridge of Durgam Lake.
On the instructions of SHO, Madhapur, Lake Police, and IT Mobile staff responded immediately and rescued the girl. She was later shifted to Medicover Hospital for treatment. Her condition is stated to be stable.
The girl is 2nd year Bi. P. C student. Earlier, her mother had scolded her when she found her chatting on Instagram using her mobile phone.
She left home for college but did not turn up. Her mother filed a complaint at the KPHB police station. Inspector, KPHB tracked the girl's phone and came to know that she was at Durgam Cheruvu.
He informed N. Tirupati, SHO-Madhapur for necessary action. Later Lake Police staff and IT mobile staff rescued the girl who jumped into the pond.
