AP man gets 5-yr jail term for kidnapping, molesting woman in Bhongir
Since 2001, he was involved in as many as 38 cases of cheating in various police stations of AP, Telangana, and Karnataka. He was convicted in three cases and jailed.

He was sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment and was fined Rs. 1,000 by a court in Bhongir on Tuesday.
The accused, Aithem Ravi Shekar, posed as government officials and extorted money from people. He befriended women with promises of jobs, money, and loans to construct houses. He sexually exploited them and later, escaped.
Earlier, he was convicted for life and fined Rs. 90,000 for kidnapping a B.Pharmacy student in the Hyayathnagar police limits. He was lodged in Central Prison, Cherlapally.
Since 2001, he was involved in as many as 38 cases of cheating in various police stations of AP, Telangana, and Karnataka. He was convicted in three cases and jailed. He escaped from the custody of Vishakapatnam police and had resumed his illegal activities.
In 2014, Shekar, posing as a Vigilance officer, threatened a woman who was running a fair price shop at Jammapuram village under Bhongiri mandal. He said he would report her to the district collector for irregularities in her stock register and extorted Rs. 20,000 from her. Further, on the pretext of taking her to the special collector's office in Bodduppal, he tried to molest her but she escaped.
In this case, the police filed a charge-sheet against the man and on Tuesday, the court sentenced him to five years jail.
