ASR: Security forces gun down six Maoists in Maredumilli forests
No police personnel were injured in the exchange of fire

ASR : Six Maoist operatives were reportedly shot dead during an encounter with special police units in the Maredumilli forests of the ASR district in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to the police, the identities of those killed have not yet been confirmed, as the situation in the area remains tense. The number of injured Maoists is still unknown.

AP Intelligence ADG Mahesh Chandra Ladda, along with district SP Amit Bardar, briefed the media on the encounter, stating that the exchange of fore occurred between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. Ladda said that security personnel had been conducting intensive search operations in the area for the past two days based on specific intelligence inputs. Combing operations are still underway, and several types of weapons were recovered from the Maoists at the encounter site.
No police personnel were injured in the exchange of fire.
This marks the second major encounter in the district in the past six months. Earlier, on May 7, two Maoists were killed in a gunfight with police in the Y. Ramavaram mandal forest region of the ASR district.
