ASR: Security forces gun down six Maoists in Maredumilli forests
No police personnel were injured in the exchange of fire

ASR : Six Maoist operatives were reportedly shot dead during an encounter with special police units in the Maredumilli forests of the ASR district in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to the police, the identities of those killed have not yet been confirmed, as the situation in the area remains tense. The number of injured Maoists is still unknown.
Sources said, among the dead is a top Maoist leader and central committee member, Madvi Hidma.
No police personnel were injured in the exchange of fire. Additional forces have been deployed for combing operations.
This marks the second major encounter in the district in the past six months. Earlier, on May 7, two Maoists were killed in a gunfight with police in the Y. Ramavaram mandal forest region of the ASR district.
