Attapur police arrest man within 48 hours for sexually assaulting a physically disabled woman
Hyderabad: Attapur Police arrested a person for allegedly committing sexual assault on a person with disabilities. The accused is said to be a relative of the victim. He was arrested within 48 hours of committing the crime.
The person has been identified as Mohammed Aqueel (35), a resident of Barkas, Chandrayangutta.
Police said the accused was working as a labourer in a plastic bottle company. He was a habitual drinker and frequently roamed in different areas exhibiting unruly behaviour. Due to his misconduct, his wife left him and shifted to her parents' house along with their three children.
The accused used to frequently visit the complainant’s house. Due to prolonged association, the complainant is capable of understanding the signs and gestures through which the victim communicates. On March 28, taking advantage of when she was alone at home, the accused, Mohammed Aqeel, entered the house and assaulted her. The accused was caught by the relative and fled from the scene.
On further enquiry, the victim, through signs and gestures, indicated that the accused had entered the house after the complainant left and assaulted her. Thus, the investigation so far clearly establishes a prima facie case against the accused Mohammed Aqeel for having committed the offence punishable U/s 64(2)(f)(k) of BNS.
