Australia: Two Andhra youth drown while swimming in Millaa Millaa Falls

Amaravati: Two youth from Andhra Pradesh died while swimming at a popular Millaa Millaa Falls in Australia.

Bodies of the youth were recovered at the far northā€™s Millaa Millaa Falls on July 16, Tuesday.

The victims---Chaitanya Mupparaju is from Bapatla district and Surya Teja Bobba is from Prakasam district.

Both of them were pursuing higher studies in Australia.

The falls in Queensland are known for the large waterhole situated at its base. It is popular with tourists.

According to the Queensland Police, on Tuesday morning Emergency services rushed to Millaa Millaa Falls, about 90km southwest of Cairns. This follows reports that two swimmers had not resurfaced. One man got into difficulty and a second man then came to render him assistance, and unfortunately, both men drowned.

The third man suffered cold and shock.

Family and friends of the two men aged in their 20s have been ā€œshattered beyond wordsā€ by the incident. A GoFundMe account has been set up to raise money for the funeral.
