Hyderabad: The body of an unidentified woman was discovered stuffed inside a trolley bag and abandoned near Vijaya Durga Owner’s Association Colony in Bachupally on Wednesday, prompting a police investigation into suspected murder and disposal.

According to the police, the woman, believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, was likely murdered elsewhere and her body disposed of at the location. The body was found in a highly decomposed state, suggesting she may have been killed several days ago.

The incident came to light when local residents noticed a suspicious trolley bag left amidst bushes near a compound wall and alerted the Bachupally police. Responding promptly, officers arrived at the scene and, upon opening the bag, discovered the woman’s remains.

“We suspect she was murdered elsewhere and the body was dumped here to avoid detection,” said J Upender Rao, Inspector, Bachupally Police Station. A CLUES team and Dog Squad were deployed to the scene to gather forensic evidence.

Surveillance camera footage from the surrounding area is being reviewed in hopes of identifying both the victim and any potential suspects. Police stated that the exact location where the murder took place has yet to be determined.

The body has been shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation as investigations continue. Authorities have also appealed to the public to report any information that could assist in identifying the deceased or tracing the perpetrators.
