Bachupally: Inter first year student dies by suicide in hostel, cops suspect homesickness
The 16-year-old student was admitted to the college three days ago. Her parents soon left for their native place Kamareddy after joining their daughter in junior college.

She jumped from the fifth floor of Narayana College hostel in Bachupally, Nizampet on Tuesday. The residents of the hostel discovered the body of the student on the ground and alerted the college authorities.
Revealing the details of the incident, the police said āThe 16-year-old student was admitted to the college three days ago. Her parents soon left for their native place Kamareddy after joining their daughter in junior college.ā
On Tuesday morning, the student cited health reasons while in the classroom and returned to her room in the college hostel. She then went to the fifth floor of the building and jumped from the terrace. The fall resulted in severe injuries and she died on the spot.
Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the scene and immediately transferred the girlās body to Gandhi Hospital for a thorough post-mortem, which would aid in determining the cause of death.
Authorities noted that the young student had displayed signs of loneliness and homesickness ever since her enrolment at the college. She also reportedly inquired about the upcoming holidays with her roommates. The police said that homesickness is suspected to be the reason for her extreme step.
A case has been registered at the KPHB Police Station under the jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
It may be recalled that, in March, a first-year intermediate student, Satvik, of Sri Chaitanya Junior College in Hyderabadās Narsingi area died by suicide in his classroom, due to the alleged harassment he faced from the institution. He also left a suicide note. Following Satvikās suicide, students staged protests outside the institution.
