Balapur murder: Missing man’s mobile phone leads police to his killer

The culprit was apprehended at his home and confessed to the crime. The accused admitted to murdering the victim and burying his body behind stones.

Balapur murder: Missing man’s mobile phone leads police to his killer

Hyderabad: The Balapur police arrested 22-year-old Abdul Jabbar who brutally killed his friend Mohd Shah Faisal (25) and dumped his body.

Faisal’s father Mohammed Jafar of Osmannagar, Balapur filed a complaint after his son went missing. He left the house on the night of 12 February and was not seen after that.

During their investigation, the Balapur police acquired CDR data on 25 February and discovered the missing man’s mobile phone which was activated with another SIM card. They tracked it to a man named Syed Shaheed. When questioned, he revealed that he bought the phone from Wajahath Ali at Minar Colony, Balapur.

Wajahath Ali told the police that he purchased the phone from Abdul Jabbar in Shaheenagar. Abdul was apprehended at his home. He confessed to murdering Faisal and burying his body behind some stones.



According to Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan, “Friendship existed between the deceased Mohammed Shah Faisal and the accused Abdul Jabbar. On 12 February, Faisal contacted the accused and went to his house in Minar Colony. Then they went to an open space next to the accused’s house. Faisal invited Abdul to go out with him, but the latter declined.”

Following a heated argument, Faisal abused Jabbar. The accused then took a wooden stick and hit Faisal on the head, causing him to fall to the ground. The accused then got a stone and struck Faisal in the head, killing him. He then got rid of his body and stole his mobile phone
